Tan the Man turns 5!

WOW! It's already mid July and Tanner is FIVE! Leading up to his birthday was a little bit torturous. He couldn't wait so about a month before his birthday he would ask daily how much longer until his birthday. The last week was the worst. He was always mad at me because he thought I kept lying about how many more days were left until his party.

This year, Tanner wanted to play games for his party. So we had a home grown party with games and a pinata. We made a fishing pond, played hot potatoe, played water balloon games and busted up a pinata. He had lots of fun and it was relatively easy.

There's no one that smiles like Tanner. When he smiles his little chubby cheeks stand at attention and his eyes light up. I honestly can't get enough of his smile and laugh. We just love our Tanner.
For Tanner's Family party we went up to the mountains for a hot dog roast. His cake was a "Fat Boy" Ice cream with a stick on fire. It was so much fun and he loved it.

Five was a big birthday for Tanner because a few important things were going to happen. When he turned five we had agreed that it was time for him to start wiping his own behind. Well the first week or so of him taking over that responsibility wasn't so bad but that's because he got lucky and always had a clean wipe. Well once he learned that they weren't all going to be like that he tried to convince me that maybe he should wait until he turned SIX to start being a big boy. Unfortunately for Tanner, he still has to take care of his behind, I drew the line at five.
