Christmas Eve 2009

This year we went tubing at Soldier Hollow during the afternoon on Christmas Eve! It was so fun and a great tradition. It gave the kids something to do during the day and helped pass time. It was a gorgeous day!
Later that night we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Newman's where we played a fun game in which we tried our best to unwrap gifts that had been taped together. We rolled a dice and passed it on when someone got doubles. Heather and I really went to town on the gifts so it wasn't easy to open. Grandma Newman also gave us all yo yo's and we had tons of fun play with those.
Even later that night, we met at Grandma Rowley's for our traditional Christmas Eve Party. We reenact the Nativity Scene and open the long awaited gift exchange between siblings and cousins. It's something I remember doing as a kid and it's something my kids still look forward to as well.
We are so blessed to have both sides of our family so close. It only adds to the love we feel for our Savior especially during this Christmas season.
